Standby For Completely New USS McKee As-41 Website!
Iam in the process of completely rebuilding the USS McKee As-41 website with many new features. Some of these new features will be live chat, forums, polling and more...
I expect to re-launch the USS McKee As-41 website on or about 15 July. Possibly sooner. The creation of the new website is progressing well. What I expected to be the most difficult part of the project was the migration of the crews log database. I have now completed that process ahead of schedule [and under budget :) ]. I have advanced the completion date by two weeks from 1 August as a result. However, until the new site can me launched I have had to stop all new registrations and editing by existing members. I apologize for this but it was necessary. I will keep you updated here as I progress and the launch date is finalized.

Read Posting Let's get a consensus on having the reunion in Norfolk.
If you think the reunion should be in Norfolk, send e-mail to:
khoss2@tx.rr.com
I have been looking into it, and have the number for the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility at Naval Station Norfolk. I called the other day and had to leave a voicemail. I will try again tomorrow during their regular hours. Once I have more details on the dispostion, I will post them here.
Again, please e-mail me with your suggestions so that I can forward them to the other committee members.
Thanks

Read Posting Sandy Lamm and I are getting a hold of people that we worked with in the S-3 division. We found 4 so far. I thought maybe people could work on finding the people in their division. San Diego or Seattle would be ok with me. Any S-3 Divison people out there email me

Title: Another Location Idea
Author: Sherry Moell, Aurora, Colorado Added: June 17, 2009
Read Posting might be Seattle. I know a lot of us reported to the ship while it was still in Seattle. I haven't been back there in about 4 years, so don't know about costs, but I just thought I'd throw it out as another option.

Title: Reunion Ideas
Author: Larry, Santee CA Added: June 17, 2009
Read Posting I attended last Sep USS Hector AR-7 reunion in Rapid City SD and thought I'd just share what we did. First of all, we got a great hotel deal at the Ramkota hotel for $80/night. Don't know if anywhere in SD could match prices like that for those who don't live here. They also provided a hospitality suite where we put lots of ships memoribilia from our ship's historian and served pastry and bevreges for those not attending tours. The reunion was 1st day: registration and get aquainted, 2nd day 6 hr bus tour Mt Rushmore, 3rd day 7 hr bus tour Crazy horse, 4th day 6 hr bus tour Wall drug and surrounding areas with an evening banquet. Last day was a memorial service honoring all fallen shipmates. The banquet was $25 and each tour was around the same price. San Diego is so much more expensive (I know as I live here!) and am open to all suggestions! Another one of my ship's White Plains AFS-4 reunion was here in SD and all we were offered was a Padre game, Midway museum etc.
These are just offered as food for thought.
